THE CENTER FOR SPINE CARE JOINS JASON WITTEN IN FIGHT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and his official charity, Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation, are teaming up with the Center for Spine Care, one of the nation's premier institutions for treating back and neck pain, to help fight domestic violence.

Throughout the 2009 NFL season, the Center for Spine Care will donate $82 for each reception Witten makes to Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation and its programs to fight domestic violence. In addition, the Center for Spine Care is asking Cowboys fans from around the country to log on to Witten's official website (jasonwitten82.com) and make a pledge of their own.

"I am very grateful to Dr. John Peloza and the fine people at Center for Spine Care for partnering with us on this great cause," said Witten, who will take the field for the Cowboys in this week's season opener at Tampa Bay. "In addition to being true pioneers in the field of spinal surgery, Dr. Peloza and the Center for Spine Care are strong advocates for ending domestic violence nationally, regionally and locally."

Since its inception two years ago, Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation has been at the forefront of the fight against domestic abuse, launching the Jason Witten SCOREkeepers program at six shelters across the state of Texas. That program places a male mentor and activity leader on the staff of those shelters, in order to interact with the children there and demonstrate positive male behavior.

"We at the Center for Spine Care are very proud to partner with Jason and his foundation in the fight against domestic violence," said Dr. Peloza. "We take our work in the community very seriously, and Jason does as well. That's why it makes perfect sense for us to work together on this cause we both care so deeply about. We hope that other fans of Jason and the Cowboys will also join us in this effort by making a pledge for each catch Jason has this season."

Dr. Peloza and the Center for Spine Care attract patients from all over the country because of their expertise in Minimal Access Spinal Technology (MAST), which uses very small incisions and surgical instruments to get patients back on their feet and back to everyday life faster.

The pledge for catches program will run throughout the 2009 NFL season and fans can follow its progress with weekly updates at the newly relaunched jasonwitten82.com.
