CSC DiagnosticsLab TestsLab tests may be performed to check for problems that are not related to deterioration of the spine, but may cause “spine pain”. Testing may determine the presence of other problems; such as, infection, arthritis, tumors, or other disorders. Lab testing is also used in pre-operative screening to assess general health status. Any serious abnormalities would need to be addressed by the patient’s internist before surgery may be performed.
